Not having much war at Udorn in 1975, some of us ventured to "Nong Khai." It's at the Laotian border. Just across the "Mekong River" from "Vientiane Laos."

That's me next to the Mekong.

The water we were told was about 3' deep,

A good friend, LV Prock, sent me a picture of himself at Shemia Alaska. He was boasting that he was now a ComPlotter. (dispatcher, a good job back then) In the background were the SOP's for all of their 2 posts. I decided if he could play Com-plotter I could  play war hero. I borrowed the Thompson sub machine gun and the .45's from the Thai Army. The .38's and survival knife were mine. He received an 8X10 Glossy of this picture. Leonard if you ever read this, write me.
